New vintage of Torell\u00f3 Collection 2014 Brut Nature<\/p><\/div>\n

We launch the vintage 2014 of Torell\u00f3 Collection<\/a>, a corpinnat<\/a> that pay homage to Francesc Torell\u00f3, who started making our first sparkling wine in 1951 on our Can Mart\u00ed estate and country house in Gelida (Pened\u00e8s region \u2013 Barcelona).<\/p>\n

How was the 2014 harvest?<\/h2>\n

The 2014 harvest started on 11th August and finished the 24th of September. The harvest was marked by a very mild winter and summer that given a very slow and balanced maturing of the grapes. The mild temperatures, accompanied by the rains that we had during the summer, meant that the vines didn\u2019t suffer from hydrological stress, maintaining an optimal production and state of health for the grapes.<\/p>\n

Which grape varieties are part of the blend in Torell\u00f3 Collection?<\/h2>\n

Torell\u00f3 Collection 2014 is a blend of 64% Xarel.lo, 26% Macabeo and 10% Parellada, organic grape varieties from our Can Mart\u00ed estate.<\/p>\n

What is the production of Torell\u00f3 Collection?<\/h2>\n

The bunches arrive whole at the cellar and, before passing all the grapes over the selection table, a separate soft pressing is done of each variety. We use the Inertys technology in our presses which protects the juice from oxidation during the pressing phase. In winter we do the assemblage of the different varieties, the bottling and afterwards the second fermentation in the bottle.<\/p>\n

What is the ageing process of Torell\u00f3 Collection?<\/h2>\n

With a minimum of 120 months in the bottle, each year we do the poignettage – moving the bottle – with the objective of mixing the yeast with the wine again. In this way we enrich the sparkling wine with aromas and tastes. It is a Brut Nature without the addition of sugars, and the date of disgorging is indicated on the back label.<\/p>\n

What are the tasting notes of Torell\u00f3 Collection?<\/h2>\n
