{"id":23688,"date":"2025-09-26T13:30:41","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T11:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/torello.com\/la-verema-2025-una-collita-per-lesperanca\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T15:12:47","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:12:47","slug":"the-2025-harvest-a-harvest-for-hope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/torello.com\/en\/the-2025-harvest-a-harvest-for-hope\/","title":{"rendered":"The 2025 harvest: a harvest for hope"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The 2025 harvest, the 75th since we started to make the first bottle of sparkling wine<\/h2>\n<p>After three years of extreme drought that very greatly reduced the production and took the vines to a water stress never seen before, \u201cthe 2025 harvest will be remembered as the harvest of hope\u201d in the words of our head of viticulture Quim Isart.\u00a0 We have collected more than 800 litres per square metre of rainwater on our Can Mart\u00ed Estate in the period between the end of the harvest last year to the beginning of the current one, much more than the average in our area.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-shortcode\"><iframe title=\"\ud83c\udf47 We\u2019ve started the 2025 harvest, our 75th since we began making sparkling wine!\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NtM1gk-NVFs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The 2025 harvest started on 11th August, at 04:30 in the morning, in the dark, as we have been doing over the last few years, and finishing at 13:00. In this way we avoid the hours of maximum sun and protect the harvesters from the high temperatures but also achieve an energy saving as the grapes enter the cellar at a lower temperature and require less energy to cool them. Besides, following the path of sustainability, we have been generating electricity from solar panels installed on our roofs. The grapes are transported rapidly as the whole vineyard surrounds our country house which is where the pressing centre lies. This campaign we want to add value to the Grenache variety that is called to gain importance in our cellar.
