Harvest 2024 has begun!

Today, 5th august 2024, a new harvest begins at our Can Martí estate, the 74 th harvest since we start to produce sparkling Wine in 1951. The first variety that we have harvested is the Muscat.

In Torelló, the nearly 80 hectares of organic vines on the Can Martí Estate are harvested, in part, when it is still night. A harvesting day starts at 04:30 in the morning and finishes at 13:00. We look for the lowest night temperatures (depending on the day, between 16ºC and 19ºC) to protect the health of the harvesters and avoid heatstroke.
On the other hand, it also avoids a certain loss of aroma and colour of the grape juice due to the high daytime temperatures of the grapes. Finally, it also supposes the saving of energy as we do not need to cool the grapes before pressing.
