Torelló receives the “Winegrowing Tradition” award from the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce
Torelló was honoured yesterday with the Winegrowing Tradition Award from the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (Alt Penedès delegation), as part of the Dia Cambra celebrations. Our president, Ernestina Torelló, accepted the award from Ferran Andreu, president of the Penedès delegation of the Chamber.
The event was held in the auditorium of the Casa Berger Balaguer in Vilafranca del Penedès, a Modernist building constructed between 1910 and 1914 by architects Santiago Güell and Marcel·lí Cosquillat.
The event began with a talk by journalist Joan Raventós of 3Cat, editor and presenter of the weekend news broadcast and former Brussels correspondent for more than five years. His lecture focused on the role of businesses within European institutions.
The following distinctions were then awarded:
- Territorial Commitment Award to Gedia, from Santa Margarida i els Monjos.
- Family Business Award to Ramon Cusiné Hill, from Olérdola.
- Winegrowing Tradition Award to Torelló, from Gelida.
- Commerce Award to Xarcuteries Valls, from Vilafranca del Penedès.
- Business Career Award to Xocolates Simón Coll, from Sant Sadurní d’Anoia.
The event concluded with remarks by the President of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Mr Josep Santacreu, and the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, Education, Sports and Tourism of Vilafranca del Penedès, Ms Gemma Romeu.
