On Wednesday, February 7th, within the framework of the Barcelona Wine Week 2024, British Master of Wine Tim Atkin presented the 2024 report on Catalan wines. This report is divided into 2 sub-reports, one for sparkling wines and another for still wines. The report on sparkling wines, entitled “Catalunya 2024 Sparkling Wine Special Report,” was written by Tom Hewson, British wine critic and musician. The report on still wines, entitled “Catalunya 2024 Special Report,” was written by Finnish wine educator, International Wine Challenge judge, and WSET diploma holder Fintan Kerr.
Scores for Torelló’s corpinnat sparkling wines in the Catalunya 2024 Sparkling Wine Special Report
Torelló Viticultors presented a total of five corpinnat sparkling wines and obtained the following scores:
- Torelló Collection 2012 Brut Nature 92 points.
- Gran Torelló 2015 Brut Nature 92 points.
- Torelló 225 2018 Brut Nature 93 points.
- Torelló Finca Can Martí 2018 Brut 91 points.
- Torelló Brut Reserva 2019 90 points.
These sparkling wines were tasted by Tom Hewson.
Scores for Torelló Viticultors’ wines from the Penedès D.O. in the Catalunya 2024 Special Report
Torelló Viticultors presented two wines from the Penedès D.O. and obtained the following scores:
- Torelló 50 Lliures 2022 91 points.
- Torelló Gran Crisalys 2022 91 points.
These sparkling wines were tasted by Fintan Kerr.

Tim Atkin is an award-winning wine writer and Master of Wine with 38 years of experience in the industry. He contributes to various publications, including Harpers, Decanter, The World of Fine Wine, and The Drinks Business. Recognized as one of the Three Men of Wine, he serves as co-chair of the International Wine Challenge, the world’s most rigorous blind tasting competition. Throughout his career, he has been honoured with over 30 awards for his outstanding journalistic and photographic work in the wine sector.
Who is Tom Hewson?
Tom Hewson is a writer and a passionate advocate for sparkling wines, serving as the Champagne correspondent for Decanter and Decanter Premium. He is also the author of Special Reports (on Champagne, English sparkling wine, and sparkling wine) for Tim Atkin Master of Wine and other publications. Additionally, he is a jazz musician.
Who is Fintan Kerr?
Fintan Kerr is a wine writer, wine educator, and founder of Wine Cuentista. He holds the WSET Diploma. His great passion is learning and sharing knowledge about the world of wine. He serves as a wine judge at the International Wine Challenge and writes wine articles for various specialized wine media.
