The vintage nº 67, since we made the first bottle of sparkling wine in Torelló, is marked by a very good quality. “Without a doubt, one of the best harvests of recent years”, in the words of Paco de la Rosa i Torelló and Jaume Farreny, oenologists of the house.

The harvest began on Saturday, August 17, a few days later than the previous year, with the earliest varieties, and ended on September 20, with the pairing. More than a month of harvest! There will still be a few kilos of late-harvest xarel.lo and merlot left to use to make Vittios natural sweet wines. Starting later favors a degree of ripeness and acidity of the grapes, optimal.

2019 has been a generally dry year, with two very intense heat waves in summer and some rain in late July, August and early September, very well received. From October 2018 to September 2019, 627 mm of rain were collected.

The harvested organic grapes (90 hectares) of the 11 varieties that we grow on our Can Martí estate have had a perfect state of health and an amount similar to last year. The harvest was done manually, in boxes of 25 kg or in small trailers of 2,500 kg, and the transport to roasted and pressed, were immediate.

The wines resulting from the harvest, to make white, rosé and red DO Penedès, are characterized by being fruity and of romantic intensity, and as a base wine for Corpinnat, they give a very good acidity, which will allow us to make sparkling wines of long aging.
