The Catalonia Special Report 2026 by Tim Atkin was presented yesterday, Monday, in Barcelona, at the Modernist Site of Sant Pau Hospital, during an event organised by the Associació Vinícola Catalana. For this report, Master of Wine Tim Atkin collaborated with sommelier Fintan Kerr.

Fintan Kerr tasted more than 1,000 wines from the 11 appellations of origin in Catalonia. The report includes 600 tasting notes, with scores, detailed tasting comments and optimal drinking windows.

At Torelló, we are very pleased with the scores awarded to the wines we submitted. For this report, we presented 50 Lliures 2024 and Gran Crisalys 2024.

In the case of 50 Lliures 2024, Fintan Kerr awarded it 92 points. In his tasting note, he highlights the following:

Pure and driven, crunchy green apple and juicy pear sit alongside fresh herbs and a chalky, mouth-watering finish, light on its feet and extremely easy to drink despite its concentration. 2026-2032.

Gran Crisalys 2024 also received 92 points. Its tasting note highlights the following:

Richer and more overtly oaked in style, creamy stone fruit and hazelnut notes lead, the structure polished and generous, closer to Chardonnay than classic Xarel·lo. 2026-2032

Without a doubt, these are very strong scores for these two Torelló white wines, complementing the ratings previously obtained in the Sparkling Wine Report by Tom Hewson, also coordinated by Tim Atkin.
